Free Meditations

Healing Light:

While listening to this CD, sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor and your hands in your lap.

Why meditate? To regain calmness and clarity.

Whether you are:

  • An executive about to face the board;
  • A teacher about to face a class of boisterous students;
  • Having relationship problems; or
  • Overworked

Any of these stress related problems can cause you to:

  • Over-react to a simple decision;
  • Get muddled and be unable to think straight;
  • Lose control, become muddled and be unable to think straight

Meditation:

  • Quietens the mind;
  • Helps you to relax.

Let go of fear, worry and feeling overwhelmed, thus increasing concentration and efficiency and stabilising your emotions.

There are lots of different ways to describe this practice here are a few:

Mindfulness – Jon Kabat-Zinn is an American professor emeritus of medicine and the creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and teaches mindfulness, which he says can help people cope with stress, anxiety, pain, and illness. He realised that by accepting what the ‘mind’ is thinking and instead of trying to shut it out taking one’s attention to the breath and following the breath down into the body it takes the attention away from the ‘mind’ in the head/ego.

Transcendental Meditation - the technique associated with the practice of Transcendental Meditation developed by Indian spiritual figure Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The meditation practice involves the use of a private mantra and is practiced for 20 minutes twice per day while sitting comfortably with one's eyes closed. TM instruction encourages students not to be alarmed by random thoughts which may arise, but to easily return to the mantra when one becomes aware of this.

Buddhist meditation - helps meditators cultivate core values of awareness, tranquillity and insight. According to Buddhist philosophy, when we understand our mind and emotions better, we can work with our actions and reactions in a way that leads to well-being and happiness – our own and the well-being...

Shamanic Guided Meditation or Shamanic journeys, is an ancient healing tradition. It involves connection with and guidance from spirits including ancestors, elders, gods, goddesses, spirit guides, power animals and angels. A journey focuses on using a spiritual connection to heal the mind, deal with internal and external stress and understand the self and the world.
